A Blooming A2 Greeting Card with a Butterfly Touch
Creating unique and heartfelt greeting cards is one of my favorite ways to express creativity, and today, I’m excited to share the story behind one of my latest designs. This A2 blank greeting card brings together vibrant colors, delicate floral accents, and a touch of whimsy with a fussy-cut butterfly.
The Inspiration Behind the Card
For this card, I wanted to capture a feeling of springtime joy—a celebration of growth, beauty, and transformation. I chose a soft, pastel palette of orange, light blue, green, and lavender, as these colors evoke a calm yet cheerful mood. Adding a butterfly felt like the perfect finishing touch to symbolize change and new beginnings.
The Creative Process
Every element on this card has a personal touch:
Designing the Flowers: I started by creating the floral elements in Canva. Using their intuitive tools, I layered colors and shapes to create the perfect blooms.
Fussy Cutting the Butterfly: The butterfly was a labor of love! Fussy cutting requires patience, but it’s always worth the effort when I, see how much dimension it adds to a card.
Assembling the Strips: To give the design structure and visual interest, I added strips across the card. They not only anchor the flowers but also create a balanced composition.
